Ben Stokes gets behind the line and dabs it in front of point. He starts running without looking at his partner and Josh Inglis is quick to get the ball to his right. Joe Root spots the danger and rejects the plan of the single, but Ben is halfway down the track. Josh picks it up cleanly with his right hand and while being on the move, he has a shy at the batting end. He has one stump to aim at and he knocks it down to catch Stokes short as he tries to return.

Full and on off, Root pushes it to the right of cover, where Inglis tumbles away but fails to make the stop. They cross.

Angled in, on a back of a length, on middle. Smith taps it back on the deck.

OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! An absolute ripper from Scott Boland and one brings two for Australia. Nip-backer from Boland, on a length, Smith presses forward and brings his bat out in front but ends up leaving a yawning gap between the bat and the pad. The ball cuts back in to beat him on the inside edge and goes through the gate to crash into the stumps.

Fuller, just outside off. Will Jacks leans on the delivery and eases it to mid off. 

On a good length, around seventh stump. Will Jacks lunges and defends it to cover. 

That missed the stumps by a few inches! This is brilliant bowling from Scott Boland. He dishes on a good length once again, pitching it just outside off and seaming back in sharply. Will Jacks strides out to defend it to his front, but the ball finds the gap between the bat and pad. The ball just glides past the off stump. There is a slight appeal for caught behind, but the review later shows that the sound was of the ball brushing the back pad.

On a hard length, outside off. Joe Root cuts it wide of the gully fielder. Cameron Green puts a dive and makes a stop. 

Fuller, on off. Joe Root blocks it toward the left of the bowler. 

Back of a length, around middle. Joe Root nudges it from his back foot to mid-wicket. 

FOUR! That's an outstanding shot by Joe Root! Short of a length, just outside off. Joe Root arches back, gets on his toes and slaps it through point for a boundary. 

On a hard length, outside off. Joe Root defends inside the line and the ball glides away to beat the outside edge of the bat.

On a hard length, pitching it outside off and angling it in sharply. Will Jacks gets on his front foot to defend but the ball gets a slight nick on the inside edge and wears on his pad.
