End of Powerplay! New Zealand Women will now be permitted to keep a maximum of four players outside the 25-yard circle for the remainder of the innings. A very positive one for Sri Lanka. The majority of runs have been scored by their skipper, Chamari Athapaththu, who has struck some really crisp boundaries already. New Zealand bowlers, despite getting an early movement, couldn't capitalise on it and that missed review against Athapaththu was a huge let-off for her. Both batters have stood out of their crease to negate the swing, which has worked well for them.

DRINKS BREAK! The opening exchanges have gone Sri Lanka’s way, with the change at the top of the order working well so far. Vishmi Gunaratne looked scratchy early on but is now beginning to find her rhythm, while Chamari Athapaththu has kept the scoreboard moving nicely. There was some swing on offer early, perhaps more than usual, but the White Ferns couldn’t quite make the most of it. It’s now up to their spinners to quickly assess the ideal pace and lengths to bowl on a surface that has offered turn.

Sri Lanka Women have slightly picked up the pace again, but have lost both their openers in this 21-30 over phase. They managed to score 44 runs in these ten overs. With two relatively new batters at the crease, the White Ferns will aim to put on the choke from hereon.

DRINKS BREAK! Dismissing both the Sri Lankan openers, the Kiwis will aim to slow down the scoring in this next phase. Harshitha Samarawickrama and Hasini Perera have started positively, showing clear intent to keep the scoreboard moving.
