His back foot drags out of the crease and Josh Inglis gathers this behind the stumps fairly and dislodges the bails in time. This is sent upstairs for a stumping check and the replay shows that Shadab was out of his crease when the bails were dislodged by Josh Inglis. OUT flashes on the giant screen.

Slower ball, pitched full and outside off. Khan hangs back and guides it to deep third, but no single is taken yet again. Shadab Khan needs to get a big hit or two away every over.

FOUR! That's begging to be hit, and it also brings up the 50 for Pakistan. Shortish length, turning back in. Ghazi Ghori goes onto the back foot and pulls it almost with a vertical bat, well in front of square on the leg side and picks up four more runs.

Flighted ball, lands it full on off. Ghori lunges to defend.

A bit slower, drifted into middle, turns away as well. Ghazi Ghori watchfully blocks it off.

On middle again, this one angles in. Ghori gets a big stride out and defends it back to the bowler.

Flatter one, turns away from off. Ghori goes onto the back foot and punches it sweetly but straight to the cover fielder. Four dots now.

Make that five dots in a row. Just short of a length, on off, Ghazi Ghori rocks back and punches it to the right of extra cover, where Marnus Labuschagne makes a fine stop.

A maiden for Matthew Kuhnemann. Floated up on middle and leg, Ghori sweeps it straight to square leg.

OUT! TIMBER! That's a brute of a delivery, and Pakistan are in tatters at 44/4. Matthew Short delivers this one quicker at 95.4 clicks, a bit fuller and just outside off. It is the natural variation, the one that drifts in but doesn't turn. Salman Agha plays for the spin and looks to block down the line, but the ball straightens, beats the outside edge and smashes into the off pole. Australia are well in control now.

Lobbed full on middle, Abdul Samad punches it firmly to short mid on.

Very similar to the one that got Babar Azam, but Salman Agha escapes. Slower one, pitched up outside off, this one grips and turns in as well. Salman Agha looks to defend but gets an inside edge, past the stumps and towards backward square leg for one.

FOUR! Edged away. Pitched-up delivery, this one straightens a touch as well. Salman Agha looks to prod halfway and block but the ball catches the outside edge and goes through the vacant slip cordon for a boundary.

Good length, slower one and attacking the top of off. Solidly blocked off the front foot by Agha.

Flatter one on off, grips and turns away. Ghazi blocks it off.

Marginally short and outside off, Ghazi Ghori rocks back and cuts it straight to point.

Round-arm delivery, darted back in from outside off. Salman Agha watchfully defends.

Tossed up, fuller and around off. This is driven uppishly down to long off for a run.

Half an appeal for LBW, mostly from the keeper, but it is turned down. The arm ball now, slides back in towards middle stump. Ghori gets pushed back and defends it out. Josh Inglis thought it was pad first, but replays show that it came off the middle of the bat. Wow, UltraEDge later shows that it was indeed pad first and Ball Tracking shows that the ball would have hit the stumps as well. Opportunity missed by Australia.

FOUR! Picked up and dispatched. Short ball, Ghazi Ghori gets inside the line, swivels and pulls it towards long leg for a boundary.

Well-fielded. Good-length delivery, drifted into the pads. Ghori tucks it to the right of the square leg fielder and picks up a single.

FOUR! Down the wrong line again, and Azam picks up four easy runs. Back of a length, on leg, worked off the hips and down to fine leg for a second boundary in the over.

OUT! LBW! The umpire had a long think about it, and eventually, he raised his finger. A very close call, but it does stand and Babar Azam has to walk back, amidst the disappointment of the crowd. Slower one from Nathan Ellis, a bit full and outside off. The off-cutter grips and cuts back in sharply. Babar Azam is late to get his front leg out and play at it and gets beaten past the inside edge, getting struck on the pads. There's an appeal and up goes the finger, but Babar reviews it. Initially, it did seem like an inside edge and that's what Babar indicated as well, but replays show that there's no bat involved. Ball Tracking shows the impact as umpire's call and wickets as hitting and Azam has to walk back.

Ellis hits a hard length, bowling it on of. Salman Agha blocks it off.

Easy three on offer. Very full, on the pads, Babar Azam squeezes it away towards the vacant deep mid-wicket region. The fielder at deep square leg covers a lot of ground to his left and cuts it off.

EDGED AND FOUR! Floated up on off, Babar Azam opts to go back but the ball just jumps off the deck and catches Babar by surprise. The ball goes off the face of the blade and wide of first slip for a boundary down to deep third.

A bit more round-arm, full and on middle. Azam shovels it between mid on and mid-wicket, picking up a couple of more runs. 11 off the over.

Good length on off, shapes away. Babar looks to work it leg side but gets it off the outside edge into the off side.

Slightly overpitched now, outside off. Azam laces the cover drive but finds the fielder at the edge of the circle.

WIDE! Full again, pushed down the leg side and Babar fails to flick it away.

Good-length delivery, taregting the pads, Babar's head falls forward as he turns it to short mid-wicket.

Slightly slower, full and on the fourth stump line. Azam blocks it off the front foot.

OUT! CAUGHT! What a take from Adam Zampa and Pakistan lose both their openers in just the first 8 legal deliveries. Just a floater from Matthew Kuhnemann, full and drifting down leg. Sahibzada Farhan sits down to help it around the corner but gets a top edge towards short fine leg. Zampa over there leaps up and takes it wonderfully over his head with both hands. Pakistan are 6/2 now.

Pakistan are up and running. Pitched-up delivery, on the pads, Sahibzada Farhan flicks it firmly and well to the left of Tanveer Sangha at deep backward square leg for a couple of runs.

Fuller in length, shaping away from off, Farhan leans on and drives it with sweet timing. The fielder at extra cover, moves to his left, makes a half stop and the batters get a single.

WIDE! A length ball, darted wide of the off stump. The left-hander, Maaz Sadaqat, goes after it but fails to connect, and a wide is called.

OUT! PLAYED ON! That seemed to take place in slow motion, and Australia too get a wicket in the very first over. Nathan Ellis bowls the slower one, at 111.1 kph, and angles it across off on a back of a length. Maaz Sadaqat has a tentative poke at it and gets an inside edge onto the deck. He tries to see where the ball is going and it just lands on top of the bails, which fall off and Sadaqat is in disbelief.

Pitched fuller and outside off, Babar Azam leans on and plays that favored cover drive, but straight to the fielder.

Neatly tucked away and Babar Azam is off the mark. Full and angled into the legs, Babar leans on and clips it well to the left of deep square leg for a brace. Pakistan are 6/1 in a chase of 232.
