Short ball outside the off stump and Sai Sudharsan wanted to play the upper cut, in the end, edges it straight to the man at 2nd slip and Reeza Hendricks who wasn't expecting it to come his way drops it and the batters pick up a single. Scores are tied.

Bangs in short outside the off stump line. Tilak Varma ducks down and lets the ball go through.

Short and on the pads and Tilak Varma flicks it down to fine leg to bring up the winning runs for his team. Its India who wins a comfortable match with first their bowling and now by a superb display of batting with 8 wickets in just 16.4 overs.

Good use of the short ball again, this time to Sai Sudharsan. This is banged in short and right around the shoulder, Sudharsan looks to pull but is well beaten.

Nicely bowled! A couple of tight overs on the trot for South Africa. Good length on off, angled in but this one nips away off the deck. Sai Sudharsan gets squared up and edges it down toward backward point.

Hard length on off and angled across at 144 clicks, Shreyas Iyer hangs back and plays it down straight to point.

A good bumper this, over middle and leg and Shreyas Iyer is taken aback but manages to duck under it.

FOUR! Way too full and wide, punished! This is pushed well across the batter, Sai Sudharsan frees his arms and drives it square off the front foot in front of cover-point for four runs.

WIDE! Fuller and angled just down the leg side, Ruturaj Gaikwad looks to shuffle across and flick it away but misses.

OUT! LBW! Another appeal for LBW and again the umpire turns it down. Two sounds again but this time Aiden Markram does review it. Wiaan Mulder bowls this one very full on middle, shaping it back in, Ruturaj Gaikwad misses the flick and plays all around the ball and gets rapped on the pads. No spike on UltraEdge though. Ball Tracking comes up with three reds and South Africa do get their first wicket eventually. Brilliant review and Gaikwad has to depart.

FOUR! Straight as an arrow! Pitched up right in the slot and on off stump, Shreyas Iyer plays a straight drive by getting a big stride forward and holds the pose as the ball gets drilled past the bowler and into the ropes.

The call is for two but they have to settle for one. Shorter in length over leg stump, tucked away off the hips behind square leg for a single.

Banged in a bit shorter over middle and at 145 clicks, Ruturaj Gaikwad hops back and manages to keep the ball down.

Wiaan Mulder starts from the other end and begins with a shortish delivery around off. Sai Sudharsan hops back and nudges it down to third man for one.

No ball! Short of a length around off, Ruturaj Gaikwad blocks it out. Wiaan Mulder has overstepped and a Free Hit will now follow.

FOUR! Ruturaj Gaikwad makes full use of the freebie and picks up a boundary. Back of a length around off, Gaikwad backs away and slam-dunks it over mid off for four runs.

Great fielding by Aiden Markram at mid off! Pitched up around off, Ruturaj Gaikwad gets on the front foot and pushes it wide of mid off where Markram pounces on the ball and has a quick shy at the bowler's end with both batters caught ball watching. Sai Sudharsan was well down the pitch and would have been a goner had that hit.

Yorker length, right in the blockhole on off stump, Ruturaj Gaikwad digs it out.

Half an appeal but there's a big inside edge! Right on the money at 140 clicks as this is bowled full on off with a hint of swing. Ruturaj Gaikwad leans on and pushes at it with hard hands but gets an inside edge onto the pads.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and India are underway! Pitched up on the off stump at 146 clicks now, Gaikwad with another tentative push at it and he gets it off the inner half of the bat onto the off side. His partner, Sai Sudharsan calls him through for a quick single.

FOUR! What a way to get off the mark on ODI debut! This ons is pitched up around off, looking for some movement but Sai Sudharsan gets a good stride forward and creams it trough covers for a boundary.

Nice and full again on the stumps, Sai Sudharsan comes forward and blocks it solidly back to the bowler.

A much louder appeal for LBW this time but the umpire says no. The bowler, Nandre Burger likes it but Aiden Markram decides against the review. Full again, on middle and angling in sharply, Sai Sudharsan plays all around it and gets a thud on the pads. The replays show no bat was involved and it might have been sliding down leg but certainly worth a look, especially given the score on the board. The replays later on show that the ball was crashing into middle and leg, a huge opportunity missed.
