Titas Sadhu के बारे में
Hailing from West Bengal, Titas Sadhu is a young prodigy who played a notable role in bringing home the first World Cup for the Indian Women’s team earlier this year. She picked up two wickets for six runs to win the title of Player of the Match in the inaugural U-19 T20 World Cup final match in South Africa. Overall, she picked up six wickets in the marquee event.
Five years ago if you spoke to Titas, you wouldn’t have known she would grow up to earn accolades for the Indian Cricket Team. She scored 93% in her school leaving exams. She was also a good sprinter and swimmer. But she chose to win our hearts by choosing cricket above all. Her father, Ranadeep Sadhu, is a former athlete and currently runs a cricket academy in Hoogly.
The 18-year-old’s cricketing journey has not been an easy one. Her first meeting with cricket was when, as a kid, she helped her father with scorekeeping at their family-owned ancestral cricket club. One rainy day, Ranadeep casually asked her to bowl and Titas was on the mark right from the word go. At the age of 13, she applied for State trials but was rejected. However, this incident did not lower Titas’s grit and determination. She kept pulling her socks. She was able to generate pace and swing like no other at her age. Finally, she was selected for the senior Bengal team at the age of just 16!
Talented Titas never looked back ever since. Her exceptional bowling skills have continued to make noise for her. She is handy with the bat too. We welcome her to the Capitals Universe for the inaugural TATA Women’s Premier League.
